It’s time to start talking about this again.
For most of human history, death was woven into daily life. People died at home, surrounded by the ones who loved them. Family and friends sat through the night, brought food, and knew what to do. Grief had a place at the table. So did the dying.
Somewhere along the way, we handed all of that over. Death moved out of sight and out of conversation. It became clinical, private, almost impolite to mention. And we lost something real: the ordinary, shared language for one of the few things that happens to every single one of us.
Most people wish they'd had these conversations sooner. Before the diagnosis. Before the death. Before a workplace was left standing around a grieving colleague with no idea what to say. I bring these topics back into the open with warmth, plain language, and sometimes humour. Every session is built for the room it's in, whether that's a lunchroom, a boardroom, a Zoom session, a care team, or a congregation.

Single Sessions
A Willow Workshop®: How to Stop Procrastinating with End-of-Life Planning
Most people aren't stuck because the paperwork is hard. They're stuck because of what comes up when they sit down to do it. This session names the thing that's actually in the way, then gets you moving.
Up to 2 hours
A Willow Workshop®: Values, Wishes and Who and What Matter Most
Before you fill out a single form, you figure out what you're planning around. You'll leave knowing your own values well enough to make every later decision faster.
Up to 2 hours
A Willow Workshop®: Conscious Health, Personal Care, and Final Wishes
What you've already lived through with illness and dying shapes what you want for yourself, whether you've looked at it or not. This one brings that into the open and turns it into care preferences you can say out loud.
Up to 2 hours
A Willow Workshop®: The 5-Minute Legacy Love Letter®
Six prompts, five minutes, one person you love. You'll write an actual letter in the room, not a plan to write one later.
Up to 2 hours
A Willow Workshop®: Writing Your Heart Will® as a Manifesto for Living
A Heart Will® isn't a legal document. It's the part that says who you were and what you meant, and writing it tends to change how you spend next Tuesday.
Up to 2 hours
A Willow Workshop®: How to Create and Live Your Legacy
You're building a legacy right now whether you're paying attention or not. This session has you look at what you're actually leaving, and whether it matches what you'd want.
Up to 2 hours
A Willow Workshop®: Remembering and Being Remembered
Why do we hold onto some people and let others go quiet? A look at how remembering works, what it does to us, and what you hope people will do with you.
Up to 2 hours
A Willow Workshop®: 9 Things to Include in Your Departure Directions®
Departure Directions® are your written instructions for how you want to be cared for after you die. Nine specific things to decide, so the people you love aren't guessing at three in the morning.

Up to 2 hours
A Willow Workshop®: Empowered Choices™ Part 3: Estate Planning and Meaningful Conversations
Your will and your financial power of attorney, plus choosing the people who'll carry them out. Then the conversation that makes the documents work.

Fare-Well Co. Workshops and Talks
Developed and delivered by Trish MacLeod.
Grief in the WorkplaceWorkshop
Someone on your team is going to lose a parent this year. Most managers freeze, send a card, and hope it passes. This session gives supervisors and HR the actual words, a realistic sense of what the first six months look like, and a bereavement approach that doesn't quietly punish people for grieving on their own timeline.
90 minutes, or 3 hours with a leadership planning block
Planning Is LoveTalk
Every form you fill out is a decision your daughter doesn't have to make in a hospital corridor. This talk reframes end-of-life planning as something you do for the people you love rather than something you do about your own death, and it's built to move a room that came for the free lunch.
45 minutes, or 60 with questions
How to Be With SomeoneWorkshop
When you hand a crying person a tissue, you think you're being kind. What they often hear is "wrap this up." That box is a small instruction to stop, and most of us pass it without meaning any of that. This session takes apart the reflexes we reach for around someone who's grieving, sick, or dying, and replaces them with the harder, better thing: staying put, saying less, and letting the crying go on as long as it goes on. You'll practise sitting in a room where nothing is being fixed. It's the most useful two hours I can give a family, a care team, or a group of volunteers.
2 hours, or 3 hours with role-play practice
The Swedish Death Cleaning WorkshopWorkshop
Döstädning. The Swedish practice of clearing out your own things while you're still well enough to enjoy the deciding. Not a purge and not a minimalism pitch. You go room by room, name what's a gift and what's a burden, and tell the story of the few objects that carry one before nobody's left who knows it. Your kids will thank you, though probably not out loud and probably not for years.
2 hours, or a half-day with a working session
Twenty Years of LettersTalk
I lost my mother without warning, and then I spent two decades writing letters to my daughter in case the same thing happened to me. A story about what we leave behind, why we put it off, and what changes when you stop. Works as a keynote or as the opening for a longer planning session.
